Cartoon drawn in response to a puzzling blog post I'd read about the London riots, in which the blogger ended on something along the lines of "there's always someone willing to use you as a turnip in their dominion". Which I guess made sense. He was talking about the mood of the post-riot clean-up he'd been at, where that 'broom picture' was taken, and repeatedly used by journalists to illustrate whatever angle they were using for their article.
Anyway, it struck me as a strange expression, so I decided to try and envision it.
